SONALI KAPOOR

1. WHEN DID YOU DECIDE YOU WANTED TO BECOME A TECH CONSULTANT AND INSPIRATION TO WOMEN WORLDWIDE?

I wanted to go into tech consulting when i was in high school. I loved my I.T classes, and was always so amazed at how the entire world is connected via the internet.

2. TELL US MORE ABOUT EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO?

The really cool thing about tech consulting is that you can work in various roles within multiple industries. I am technically a business analyst - so i work with clients to identify how they want to marry their business needs with I.T related solutions. This includes everything from requirements gathering, blue printing / designing the system , assisting the developers in making the systems and then testing the product to make sure it meets the business needs. Another cool role my job has allowed me to experience is program financial management - which is managing an entire programs multi million dollar asset portfolio. Keeping track of all expenditure , changes in scope of the project , architectural decisions , I.T software / hardware procurement, stakeholder management, this list goes on !

3. WHO IS YOUR INSPIRATION AND WHY?

My inspiration is my mum. She’s progressed far within her I.T career - within roles such as Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer. She now runs her own I.T consulting business. If i could be half as successful as her in my career, i’d be a happy woman !

4. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS?

In 5 years professionally, i hope to see myself leading large digital transformation projects end to end. And in 5 years personally, I hope to be married and moved out with my partner. And hopefully be blessed to have some children.

5.WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUNG GIRLS AND WOMEN WHO ARE ASPIRING TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL WOMAN LIKE YOU, BUT ARE TOO AFRAID TO TRY?

Looking back at my journey i think it’s extremely important to get work experience whilst you’re studying at uni. Try get into internship work if possible - this will really help boost your confidence , communication , and other various skills. It also helps when it comes to applying for graduate positions. Always ask questions (there is no such thing as a dumb questions), be open to learning new things (even if you think you won’t like it), know you have what it takes (self love is always a must) and just do it! Also make sure to have a solid resume and LinkedIn profile set up. These are the two forms of written communication where you really need to sell yourself - so don’t be afraid to really show off what you know/work you’ve done. Finally, if you can, try get a mentor. You can reach out to anyone on LinkedIn and ask if they’d be happy to mentor you. Or even any staff member at your University. You can set calls with them and ask them all the questions you have or have your doubts cleared. This will really help you in feeling confident and comfortable when it comes to your graduate interviews / any interviews, and increase your chances of getting your dream position!

1. WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO BECOME A BOSS BABE AND INSPIRATION TO GIRLS & WOMEN GLOBALLY?

Growing up as a little girl, i always knew i was a leader! I lost my way for many years there and fell down the route of partying, drugs and depression and pushed everyone i loved and cared about away. The moment that i had my baby boy i knew it was really time to start living! I found a business opportunity that i attached myself too and really created something amazing out of it! i found my passion in supporting other women and men focus on their self growth, building sustainable online residual income and believing that no matter their past or the person they ‘MAY HAVE BEEN”, they’re lives are worth just as much as anyone else in this world!

2.TELL US MORE ABOUT EXACTLY ALL THE AMAZING THINGS YOU DO?

I teach women and men all around the world to create a life on their terms! To be the creators of their own future and make a decision to have their life work for them not the other way around! I am partnered with a really amazing network marketing company that has completely changed my lifestyle and all of the people around me as well! Being a single mum, it can be quite difficult to work a 9-5 to support your children, let alone do everything around the house and have time for a social life as well. So with this business venture I’ve been able to create an income as well as have more time to spend with my loved ones whilst making an impact on so many others lives at the same time. I am really passionate about helping others change their circumstances for the better.

3. HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO BALANCE YOUR CAREER WITH YOUR SOCIAL/PERSONAL LIFE?

I always make sure that i have a great work schedule, and try my best to stick to it. Working for yourself can be quite demanding but I’m grateful that with my business, i am able to take time off whenever i need it and am also able to work from wherever and with who ever i please so that always helps! Making time to prioritise myself is important swell because we can’t give from an empty cup so i do a lot of self love practise.

4. WHAT MOTIVATES YOU DAILY?

I don’t really like to rely on motivation, because motivation comes and goes. For me it comes down to discipline, and making the right choices that are going to be beneficial for my family, life in general and with business. Don’t get me wrong, being motivated is important and surely contributes to success, but it is highly overvalued because it should not be the main factor - motivation is unreliable. Discipline, however is unyielding. I force myself to follow through. Things are always going to come up in life that get in the way of your goals but that is no reason to let them stop you completely. A little discomfort is worth the change… If i was to say one thing that motivates me though, that would be my son, Braxton.

5.WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUNG GIRLS AND WOMEN WHO ASPIRE TO BE A BOSS BABE JUST LIKE YOU, BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO JUGGLE IT ALL?

DJUST GO FOR IT, If you can’t stop thinking about it but the only thing that is stopping you is fear of judgement or not being good enough. If hear a voice in your head saying ‘I can do that”, then take action today, you only have one life. STOP doubting yourself, STOP fearing that it’s not going to work out, & most importantly; never feel as though you are alone because you are NOT sister. The most inspiring woman is one who knows what she wants and never settles for less than she’s entitled to. Stands up for what she believes in and won’t stop until she is finished. The key to success is to start before you ready, and NEVER GIVE UP. Don’t be afraid to try things and fail! Because without failure, there would be no growth. BE YOUR BIGGEST SUPPORTER, NO ONE HAS GOT YOU LIKE YOU DO
