5 WAYS TO BEAT THE FLU THIS WINTER

When winter hits the oversized hoodies come out, the romantic date nights and the cute clothes of course, but what sucks is when the flu hits you out of no where and locks you down for a week or two. Just happened to me and it was the worst so I have decided to write a blog post to help YOU beat the flu this winter ♡

1. GET PLENTY OF REST

As cliche as it sounds, you need as much rest you can get. Get in your proper amount of sleep at night and take every opportunity you can to sleep and rest during the day ( especially if you're too sick to go to work ). Resting your body while it's fighting a virus is extremely important, so take a break and get some proper rest baby girl.

2. EAT HEALTHY FOODS

Eating foods of value that benefit your body and provide your body with all the vitamins and nutrients it needs it SO IMPORTANT when your'e sick. I understand that when your feeling this way ( especially with the winter cold ) all you feel like is junk food but let me make it very clear that eating the right foods will actually help you get better. Food is medicine, and why have so much medicine when you can heal yourself with the right foods? You need to make sure you're eating foods filled with plenty of Vitamin C, Probiotics and Antioxidants. Foods such as Dark Chocolate, Berries, Lemons ( antioxidants ) , Vegetable Soup with plenty of spices in all foods ( to build your immune system ) and yoghurt of course!!

3. SWEAT IT OUT

If you are well enough to be out and about then you should definitely give yourself at least 20 - 30 minutes of exercise per day. Studies show that already living an active lifestyle can help prevent the flu by 26%. Although, if its too late and it's caught you be sure to keep that body moving. Exercise will help get your blood flowing and clear up your blocked nose. Be careful though, because too much exercise can leave you dehydrated - so be sure to drink plenty of water and take it easy on yourself. Low intense workouts are key until you fully recover.

4. DRINK MORE WATER

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. Cleanse your body, keep yourself hydrated and flush all those nasty toxins out of your body.

5. GET SOME FRESH AIR AND SUN

Being sick means that you will most likely be spending most of your time inside which is fine, but also it would get a bit stuffy, especially if you're hybernating in the same spot. Be sure to get fresh air and sunlight. It does wonders for your health, wellbeing and mindset. The sun is an amazing way to get that well needed VITAMIN D baby.
